Problems with Listed Building Consents

Often we are called in to help when the local authority Conservation Officer or Planning Officer does not like you proposals. We can help work through the issues, attend site meetings and help ensure that you can acheive a satifactory resolution of the problem.

With just ten days to go before my listed building consent appeal deadline I realised I was out of my depth; without help I wouldn’t have had any hope of success.  A quick google found Heritage Matters and I sent an email.  Two days later David Hickie came over for a site visit.  We chatted for a while, and took some measurements and photographs.  In good time I received a draft appeal document from David and after a few minor amendments it was submitted.  From the moment I met David I was sure I had probably found the right guy for the job.  I wasn’t wrong; yesterday we received the Inspector’s decision. “The appeal is allowed and listed building consent is granted …”.  Thank you David! Dr David Hickie was formerly an Assistant Director working for English Heritage (the government’s national expert body for all heritage matters) and is a Full Member of the Institute of Historic Building Conservation (the professional body for local authority conservation officers).

We are specialists at helping you successfully submit a planning application and/or associated listed building consent to your local planning authority. We can take the hassle out of the process for you and project manage the whole thing.

We can do any survey work required, prepare drawings for you, submit the application for you (normally electronically using the ‘Planning Portal’) and deal with any queries from the Conservation Officer.
